Kaela LeLaurie

Her name is Kaela LeLaurie. She's a 70-something year old black woman, a former slave to the evil Delphine LeLaurie, always dresses in purple, and carries her voodoo supplies with her at all times. Kaela was born in Florida to a Voodoo priestess and a railroad worker. She is interested in using her abilities to help others, and rarely uses them to further her own agenda. She is prone to trusting strangers, but is still capable of protecting herself despite her age. Once in New Orleans, Kaela was jumped by a group of thugs and succeeded in killing them all, but now is on the hit list for their leader and has been on the run for several years.She doesn't talk much, is prone to violence if she feels threatened, and doesn't like discussing her life as a slave. If she finds you worth protecting, she will defend you with her life and unleash all forms of black magic to keep you safe from a perceived threat. She has a soft spot for cats. She was born a slave, and that was all she knew for most of her life. She was beaten, mistreated, and was even almost lynched several times throughout her life; After she was freed, Kaela decided to dedicate her life toward the cause of revenge; for herself, for her fellow slaves, and for anyone who was treated poorly for something they had no control over. Kaela is actively seeking to enhance and grow her abilities to prove that Voodoo is not an evil practice, and can be used to help and heal. Her main drive is to help others and offer guidance and wisdom to the troubled younger folks she meets on her travels.
