The Gunnarsson farm is approximately 11 miles north and easterly of Brimstone where the low foothills of the Rocky Mountains tapper off into New Mexico. Henrik (Henry) Gunnarsson purchased the deed in 1880 after the death of his wife in 1879, and relocated with his only daughter, Arianna Gunnarsson. The farm mostly tends dairy cows and some cattle as the primary source of income for the farm, but also produces vegetables for additional commercial income, and corn feed for the animals. Henrik was particularly fond of growing Rutabagas and produced a homemade "turnip wine" that he only shared with friends.
